Historical Background
Ewire is an Internet-based electronic purse, and the Danish business is run by
Ewire Danmark A/S based solely on online payment solutions.
The company was established in year 2002 and since 2002 where the electronic
purse was introduced, Ewire has serviced more than 300,000 different users in
Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The original purpose of developing the electronic
purse was to service a growing need to process many minor payments through the
Internet.
Since 2002 the online payment market has changed concurrently with the technical
and commercial development within the Internet. The demand for products and
services has increased enormously, the Internet behaviour has currently
developed new opportunities, and online payments have become a normal daily
business. In view of this, Ewire has currently developed new technical and
commercial solutions to meet the demand for payment solutions for both private
trading (c2c) and business online payments (b2c).
In 2008 Ewire decided to initiate the development of a brand new and unique
technical platform, which opens the possibility to introduce the ultimate simple
and quick online payment without compromising the security. Based on the new
platform Ewire will continuously launch new functions and services combining the
experiences, from Internet-trading and online payments gained throughout the
years, with the newest technology and security-principles.
