White Paper Ewire New Generation (NG)

Background for White Paper

In spring 2009 Ewire joined in celebrating the 10th anniversary for the first commercial online payment in Denmark.

In 1999 it was a great achievement to do business online, and a lot of people worried about how to do online payments without fraud and abuse. The traditional players within payment solutions had their doubts. The first legislation on E-commerce was set-up based on the EU Directive. A lot of things have happened since then, and Ewire has been aboard all the way.

The plans to develop a Danish electronic wallet formed up in the year 2000 and was realised in the fall 2002, where the first version of Ewire was launched by visionary Internet entrepreneurs. In the years after, the E-commerce and the development in general with new products, services and the users conducts on the Internet have been a part of everyday's life and contributed in building-up a significant competence within Ewire, which we prefer to carry-on in new generations of possibilities.

Ewire NG is setting-out new goals for the Ewire companies, and to offer new opportunities and features for our co-operators, merchant customers and private end- users. The aim of this white paper is to highlight our intentions to deliver professional and simple payments to competitive prices, without compromising the security.

The Challenge

The online payment solution has to be simple, secure and affordable.

At first this seems to be 3 incompatible factors; everybody has Internet access, and payment cards also to be used for Internet payments are developed for the physical world, where the card with the printed card-digits and control digits never leaves the card-holder. E-commerce means distance between sender and recipient during transfer of a payment, and also that a commodity or service is not necessarily delivered at once. Moreover, you need to exchange information through the Internet, which is accessible to everyone.

It is relatively simple to do E-commerce, and acting with common sense you can also avoid un-delivery of your commodities bought on the Internet, or to be misled to give away compromising information. But the way to do things can be improved, and it is Ewire's mission to implement new solutions with security improvements and expand the use of E-commerce, and at the same time make it even more simple and intuitive to use the electronic wallet.

Ewire has the mission to make it possible to start-up a web-shop or buy and sell on the Internet as ordinary consumer without being a technical genius or be able to understand everything happening on the Internet.

Ewire Mission and Vision

Ewire works from a general strategy set-up in 2008 and valid until the end of 2010. We have clear goals for the benefit of our users, merchant customers, co-operators and owners.

Mission

Ewire has the mission to become the preferred payment solution in Denmark for online business between private customers, and at the same time have the possibility to offer our merchant customers attractive and innovative online payment solutions, which in total will contribute to a general further development of E-commerce.

Subsequently, Ewire will, goal-oriented and based on our foreign currency system, export some of our payment solutions to selected customer segments in Europe.

It is our passion to deliver a secure and serious payment solution to all Ewire users no matter where, when and how they want this service.

Vision

• We will develop Ewire into the most dynamic, well-managed and effective financial company in Denmark based on needs from users and merchant customers.
• We will carefully select our suppliers and co-operators to deliver the best and most innovative solutions without compromising security.
• Through our membership in Trade organisation for Internet og Distance Handel (FDIH) Ewire will be in close dialogue with other players in the market in order to remove the limitation of the past and support the future marketplace on the Internet.
• Based on our year-long experience in the business and the present strategy plan we will be able to export our payment solutions and make our users do business across country borders in a quick, simple and secure way.
• Ewire will be synonymous with a serious and dependable company actively investing resources and necessary economical means to further develop trading possibilities on the Internet, and at the same time be an attractive company attracting even more skilled and ambitious employees.
